Only three of the other eight racinos in New York out performed Aqueduct, and those were open all year.
“Their opening numbers are just really impressive,”said an official from a competing racino of Aqueduct.
“I’m sure some of that is the curiosity and wow factor.”
Overall, racino revenue for the state was $1.26 billion, up 15.8% from 2010. These numbers come out as Governor Cuomo is making a push for as constitutional amendment to legalize Vegas-style casinos in New York that would be able to offer table games such as blackjack, craps and roulette.
