While the new casino was prospering, six of the state’s nine other casinos saw declining numbers, especially those located near Rivers casino.

Illinois casinos which saw an increase in revenue include Jumer’s Casino in Rock Island, the Par-A-Dice Casino in East Peoria and the Casino Queen in East St. Louis.

Despite this increase in revenue, the money the state will receive from casinos may remain the same as some of the income from Rivers casino is being used to help subsidize the state’s horse racing industry and other casinos will be paying lower tax rates due to low revenues.
