This was the first big move for Riviera Holdings since its bankruptcy this spring. The companies didn’t immediately say whether the Colorado property would keep the Riviera name or what Riviera Holdings intends to do with the profits of the sale.
The Riviera Black Hawk opened in February 2000, has around 750 slot machines, eight table games, a 500-space parking garage and a buffet. It is located about 40 miles west of Denver and is the first casino passed when driving in from Denver on Highway 119.
The Black Hawk casino had a net revenue of $9.9 million in the second quarter vs. the $21.6 million from the much bigger Riviera Las Vegas, which includes its hotel tower with 2,075 rooms, according to Riviera’s financial report.
