The company has already started painting the outside of the property and the front desk is being relocated. A lot of the improvements will be done to the property’s convention area, where they will be adding a porte cochere.
The resort’s last large renovation was in 2007, when the company spent about $20 million refurbishing the property’s hotel rooms.
Riviera officials hope the renovations will help business and that they will have good things to look forward to in the coming years. If approved, the Riviera Hotel & casino also plans to offer Internet wagering and they are currently working with Bally Technologies subsidiary, Chili Gaming, to develop online games.
