On Tuesday the Massachusetts Senate failed to pass a proposed amendment to a casino gambling bill that would have allowed slot machines at Boston’s Logan Airport.
Senator Marc Pacheco, who sponsored the bill, believed it would have raised extra revenue from travelers visiting the state.
Opponents, however, believed it would have simply reduced revenues from the other four gaming venues that are expected to be created by the current bill.
The Massachusetts House passed a bill two weeks ago to allow three casinos and one slot parlor. It’s now up to the Senate to finalize the bill and the issue is expected to be further discussed next week.
