Pending regulatory approval, the management deal would be effective starting next month. Station will replace South Point, which had operated the facility since 2007. The deal also marks Station’s first venture into sports book management in Downtown Las Vegas. Currently, Station Casinos operates the race and sports books at all its Southern Nevada casinos.
Station Casinos LLC owns 17 properties including: Boulder Station, Fiesta Henderson, Fiesta Rancho, Green Valley Ranch Resort, Palace Station, Red Rock Resort Spa & Casino, Santa Fe Station, Sunset Station, Texas Station, Days Inn at Wild Wild West and the Wildfire Gaming division that includes Barley’s Brewery, The Greens, Gold Rush, Lake Mead Lounge, Wildfire Casino, Wildfire Boulder and Wildfire Rancho. The Company also manages Aliante Station pursuant to a management agreement.
Station Casinos will provide the El Cortez with its exclusive Wagering Integrated Network (WIN), a wholly owned, proprietary system that allows for the processing, management and reporting of wagers across the Station Casinos’ network of race and sports books as well as its odds on all wagered sporting events. Additionally, players at El Cortez will have the chance to participate in Station’s popular Great Giveaway and Last Man Standing Football contests as well as have access to Sports Connection, the Station’s proprietary intranet and phone wagering program for Nevada residents. Other new sports book offerings at El Cortez will now include: higher betting limits, higher comps and VIP parking for sports bettors.
