Once complete, each guest room at Spa Resort Casino will be completely renovated with new mattresses, bedding, bed scarves, neck rolls, 42” flat-screen televisions, carpeting, bedside tables with granite tops, black-out drapery, chairs, ottomans, and a clock radio featuring an iPhone/iPod port. Guest rooms will also have refurbished headboards, reupholstered benches, and refinished credenzas.
The corridors will also be outfitted with new carpeting, drapery, wall covering, sconces, and furniture. Hotel officials said the hotel’s trademark guest room doorbells will remain intact. The Spa Resort opened in 1960, and the current casino made its official debut in 2003. The hotel and casino will remain open during the renovation works. The project will be completed in phases, so as not to disrupt or displace guests, and is expected to be completed by October, 2011.
“We’re pleased to reinvigorate this historic hotel and put some of our local construction teams to work in the process. But the ultimate winner will be the guests who get to enjoy staying in these beautiful rooms” says Brian Hansberry, chief operating officer for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians which owns and operates Spa Resort Casino.
