Trump Says Legalizing New York Casinos Won't Hurt Atlantic City Casinos
There are already several Indian-run casinos in upstate New York as well as virtual casinos at nine different racetracks throughout the state, including Resorts World New York, which is located at Aqueduct in Queens.
This year, the New York state legislature passed a constitutional amendment to allow up to seven casinos statewide. It must be approved again in 2013 or 2014 in order for it to go to a public referendum.
Real estate mogul Donald Trump has come out and said that he feels legalizing
New York casinos will not have a negative effect on the Atlantic City casino market.
"Atlantic City will be a place that will have giant casinos, and those giant casinos, because of their location to each other and the ocean nearby, will do just fine," Trump said.
