April Gambling Podcast Answers to Common Slot Machine Questions with Syndicated Gambling Writer John Grochowski  – A video podcast hosted on Youtube! The American Casino Guide has a monthly podcast hosted by the book’s author, Steve Bourie, who talks about topics of interest to travelers who like to visit casinos and during the course of each show he interviews a special guest from the world of casino travel or gambling.

For the March edition Steve interviews syndicated gaming writer John Grochowski for this video that gives answers to some of the most common questions that players have about slot machines. Topics include: how they work; do video slots pay out better than reel spinning slots; are all machines regulated; can a casino change the payback on a machine; what is server-based gaming and how widespread is it; how can machines be programmed to act randomly; plus much more.

Las Vegas Hilton: Cool by the Pool Happy Hour is back for the summer beginning April 22 from 4 pm to 8 pm daily. Live entertainment, drawings, 2-for-1 drinks, $2 Shrimp Cocktails and $3 Ceviche. Admission is FREE.

Silverton: Vizzun Entertainment presents the 10th Annual Pure Aloha Festival from April 14 through 17.  The two-fold event features a one-of-a-kind Hawaiian festival and concert series. The festival will feature more than 100 island craft and merchandise booths, authentic food vendors and amusement rides. While guests shop and dine on ono (delicious) food, they will be entertained by local halau performances and bands. General admission tickets for the festival are $7 and can be purchased at the event gate. The discounted $5 rate is available for seniors age 55 or older, those with proof of military ID and children under 10.  The concert series will host J Boog, Fiji and Bonafide on Friday, April 15 and Kapena on Saturday, April 16. Sahara: The Sahara Hotel will close on May 16 with ownership saying it was “no longer economically viable” to keep the nearly 60-year-old iconic Strip resort operating.  Hotel rooms will be honored through the closing as well as all club promotions.
