Positive Review First, Restaurants are Good, prefer cafe over buffet. Comps are good if you use the card, rooms are super nice. quite, friendly workers. Host are awesome guys and gals. friendly and prompt. Ok for the BAD REview. Someone needs to call Chumash Casino on their activity of tightening up the slots and not allowing any winnings or for that goes just hitting mixed bars to comp you back so you can enjoy playing more then a hour on $500 or $300 banks. Check them out ok, they need to be spotted on stealing from the people. I've been going here for 5 years now and always enjoyed myself, like they say "don't get so serious, have some fun but when every time you go you lose worse than the time before, it's time to stop honoring this tribe of Indians". Before July 2012 it was possible to win at least a couple times out of 3 visits,, I mean really win a couple thousand on a few hundred bank, you would see at least 10 to 20 $1,000 or more jackpots light up nightly, it was personally the only casino I'd see $10,000 jackpots out of any casino visit, I thought this place was awesome but not so much now.. Amazing right, but since the remodel of the hotel they are really sticking it to the local gamblers. See their buses bring extra locals up from within Venture county, La, SD, Santa Barbra and farther. This has to be checked on. It just keeps getting tighter and seems like on purpose driving their local business away so they can con the bus groups. Mostly local Spanish field workers playing all night penny machines but their just taking advantage of the local workers I see and local professorial players of slots. The bust in people for bingo, slots and table players need to know this place is getting out of control on taking money from everyone and Now it's gotten worst then VEGAS on slots and must be exposed. -$$$$$ get ready to lose, forget what it was like and stop saying that's Gambling like a general statement so you don't feel bad. Played here a few times but mainly stuck to live Poker. I checked out the Video Poker for my standard game, which is 9/6 Jacks or Better. The best version of this game pays 9 times for the Full House and 6 times for the Flush. I could not find anything that paid even close to this at Chumash.

The absolute best version was in the High Limit section and that was a $5/$10/$20 machine. Want to guess what the payout was? For the Full House it only paid 7 times and for the Flush it only paid 5 times. That is horrible !!! I could even go to a Harrah's property and expect to get a better version on a $5 machine.

So that is why I stuck to the Live game. I looked at the slots and there were a broad variety, but they didn't seem to be very loose based upon the faces of the people playing them and the lack of happy noises that usually goes with people winning.

I would go to the casino more often, but it is too smokey. And the no smoking room is too small, and the slot machines there are not as interesting and are not changed as often as on the ground floor. Only 30% of people are still smoking, we non-smokers are getting short changed. This is a frequent complaint among the nonsmoking gamblers. When I go to the casino, I get there on a weekday, preferably on Wednesday around 7 a.m. and leave before 10 a.m. and my clothes still smell of smoke.

Excellent Buffet - good and plenty. i rate it equal to Vegas. Was lucky on slots - about 1 out of 3 visits.

Clean and noisy like most casinos. Personnel very friendly. Free non-alcoholic drinks served. Recommend it - beautiful interior facade.
