Review of non-gambling visit to Thunder Valley
We came up to the Thunder Valley to go to a Big Bad Voodoo Daddy show, which was great. However the show was in a tent which was not very comfortable for a show.
We had dinner in the coffee shop (Thunder Cafe?) and the food was very good and prices were reasonable, under $10 per person. I had an excellent cheeseburger that I think was about $8 or $9. They were very busy. Service was a bit slow but our waitress was very friendly.
Caution for those who don't like smoky casinos. Since Native American casinos are the only places where people can legally smoke indoors in California, they are basically an entire state's worth of smoking in one room.
Please ignore my ratings of slots, players' club, and atmosphere as I didn't use any of them. I will say that I saw very few video poker machines, pretty much everything there is slots.
Thunder Valley Casino
We just stopped by the Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento on our way home from a visit to Reno.
We love the atmosphere of the casino where there are always new slot machines that other casinos don't have yet. We were disappointed that the free self service drink kiosk was no longer there.
we stayed long enough to have a meal at the Fatburger in the food court area. There was also a Peets Coffee, a Pizza Hut and a Panda Express.
Thunder Valley Is The Best Place For Slots and Fun
This is the only place I go to play slots. They have the best variety of slots including what seems like hundreds of penny slots. The atmosphere is fun, free soda and coffee at the drink station, Fatburger! I swear the hotel is better than the Luxor in Vegas.
Thunder Valley Casino
Thunder Valley Casino now has many many penny slots, some we have never seen at any other casino. They have added a new hotel and a nice parking garage. We always eat in the food court and get our drinks from the free drink kiosk in the center of the casino.
Loved the electronic craps!!
I thought this casino was pretty nice but what was really awesome was the electronic craps machine! I rolled 40 times before I finally 7-outed and turned 20 bucks into 120 which is hard to do in craps...can't say the same for the digital poker room where every 2nd or 3rd hand seemed to generate a full-house or nut flush. I'd come back just for the craps machine though!
Thunder Valley Casino
Thunder Valley Casino does not have enough penny slots to satisfy us. The food court is a nice place to eat on the way to Reno but the player's club doesn't give us enough free offers.
