Stopped in on our way to harrah's
My friend Jan & I stopped in at Ameristar Sunday Jan 22 for about and hour. Its only about 6 miles from harrah's across the
river. I tried my Cash Wizard machine and didn't do much. Also tried my Instant Riches machine and did not do anything.
Finally got on a Code Red and played for about 30 minutes before we left. I came away with about $5.00 more than I took in.
AMERISTAR-ST CHARLES SUNDAY BRUNCH BUFFET
We went to visit my daughter on Sunday and we stopped at Ameristar for their brunch. I have to say it was not up to par. It is
usually pretty good. They needed more vegetables. I didn't care for the potatoes. I prefer regular hash browns. The service
was good. My husband went to run some errands and I played for a couple of hours. My cash wizard machine was cold
today, but I managed to play on the amount of money I brought until hubby got back.
Ameristar-Cash Wizard Machine
My friends and myself went casino hopping today. We first went to Ameristar about 10:00 a.m. and stayed there for almost
2 hours. They have a nice gift shop and friend Nancy bought some xmas ornaments. $7.99??? kinda expensive, I think.
However, we finally went inside and I found a cash wizard machine and I played on that machine until we left at 11:45 a.m.
I only spent $10.00!!!! I had alot of fun and left with $75.00. CAN'T BEAT THAT!!!!
Decent buffet
I don't play here very often, as I feel the slots (for me) are tight. I use to do better here. They do have more games that are up
to date and fun to play when the casino allows you to play and not suck up all your money. The buffet is usually pretty good.
It has gone up in price-lunch now $13.99. Bathrooms are always clean. I have never encountered any problems there.
video poker and slot club downgrades
I have been going to ameristar for many years. The last year or two the video poker inventory has been going downhill. The slot club cash back has been downgraded twice also. Casino queen has better games and better promotions for gaming in the st louis area. However the hotel is amazing.z
Tight Slots
Ameristar used to be a good place to play, until they built their new hotel. I have had their premere card and always enjoyed myself. I don't necessarily expect to win everytime, but I do expect enough of a return to say I enjoyed myself.
Since they built their hotel, their slots are extremely tight. Every machine seems to be a dry hole that takes your money as fast as it can. We now go to the Lumiere or the Casino Queen where the slots are much looser and we always have a good time. STAY AWAY FROM AMERISTAR if you want to enjoy yourself while gaming. We learned the hard way.
