This place is always a good time. Blackjack for $3 pretty much any time I've ever been there, and the steak house, while not the best you will ever eat, is always a price performer. My wife and I stayed in a suite here the night we got married in a 2 minute ceremony at a chapel a few blocks away and we are still married after 10 years.

Very Old Casino, with the best being the cheap breakfast served all day. The slots seem very tight, and the table games dealers are mostly break ins. We only spent about an hour in this establishment, as the smell was very damp. I did however hear the sportsbook is now going away, as I thought It was the best in Reno.

The Cal-Neva Casino is divided into 2 buildings and a second floor area. It is located in the downtown area within walking distance of Harrah's, Circus Circus, Eldorado and Silver Legacy. The hotel is still old.

Cal Neva is a great casino. We have been playing there for over 15 years and have seen many positive changes. They have come a long way in providing what the player wants. Our primary game is slots. Their in-house Nevadan slot machines are both fun and at times very lucrative to play. They have a very good slot mix and continue to update their selections.

What impresses me the most is their staff, from their top management down to the service employees, they are very friendly and helpful. I was impressed when I wrote a letter to the owner and CEO regarding their slot mix and immediately received a reply back from their director of slot operations Clint Johnson. He arranged to meet with us and also took the time out of his busy schedule to address our questions. I can read people pretty well and what I observed while conversing with Clint, was a man of Integrity, that is willing to accept constructive criticism and weigh its merits.

He arranged a meeting with his slot repair manager Bob who addressed the technical aspect of my questions. Like Clint, Bob was straight forward, honest, highly knowledgeable and very politely answered my questions to my satisfaction. I also came in contact with a couple of the slot repair crew members, Almario and Chuck, who also were very friendly and helpful.

Last but not least, Ricardo, Pit Supervisor, whose sense of humor got me through a slight delay and the wonderful slot host and hostess, Ben, Audrey and Lodia who made our stay very comfortable!

If you folks out there have not visited Cal Neva, I suggest you do so to experience employees that want to make a difference and a management team that accepts input and looks at new and innovative ways to make their casino serve their patrons better! THEY ARE CONSTANTLY STRIVING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Cal-Neva in Reno has old hotel rooms and an inexpensive restaurant on the second floor. The slot assortment is OK and the player's club does send out room and restaurant offers in the mail.
