Straight Forward Review
Straight Forward Review based on my 2 week trip last month:
Property-
Flamingo on Las Vegas Strip
Pros-
Lots of table games
Pleasure Pit dealers make great eye candy
Many shows on site
Decent buffet
Newly remodeled deluxe rooms
Great pool area
Friendly Staff
Cons-
Table limits have $10 minimum
Many 6:5 tables on Blackjack
Must Sees-
4pm Nate Burton Magic/Comedy show (it’s underrated!)
Real pink flamingos outside
Nice buffet
I have never stayed at the Flamingo. I have played and eaten there. It is nice at the buffet to get a table by the window and
watch the pink flamingos. The food is o.k. I had fun in SEPT. playing the WIZARD MACHINE IN THE FLAMINGO LOBBY.
I Always catch my bus to Laughlin there, so I end up dropping some money in their slot machines.
Good casino, terrible hotel
Except for the dreaded 6-5 blackjacks, the casino is ok. The buffet is decent, not as great as Planet Hollywood but not as bad as Excalibur. There is a nice koi pond on the way to the pool.
The hotel. Oh where to begin. The parking garage is way in the back. And the elevators in the garage are so slow, you just decide to carry your luggage down the stairs. People complain about how far the monorail is from the casino. The monorail is closer than the parking garage. Then once you get inside, the check-in is ridiculously long. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. The floors upstairs are so large that once you get off the elevator you still have what seems a half-mile walk to your room.
I will stay somewhere else and will usually play here for a little bit. It the hotel was nicer, I might even play more.
My favorite place to stay.
We usually stay at the Flamingo when we are in Vegas. They treat us right and the gambling has paid off most of the time. The rooms are not new, but clean and the food is OK.
Classic Vegas- Good Location- What more could you
The wife and I stayed here on our last trip to Vegas. Even though it's been renovated, added onto, etc. This place still has that old Vegas feel to it. Just seeing the pink lights makes you feel like you're taking a step back to the mobster days.
Hotel- Rooms are clean and efficient. It's Vegas so how much time do you need in the room? Maybe a little sleep, a little "you know". They're clean and comfortable, good enough for me. Oh and NO RESORT FEE!
Slots- I'd stay away from them, as I do at most strip casinos anyway.
Table Games- The usual selection of craps, blackjack, mini baccarat, 3 card poker, and all the variations of these type of games. Most of the minimums seemed to be $10. There are better options on the strip minimum wise, but there are much worse choices as well.
Service- Very friendly folks working at Flamingo and most of the Harrah's family of casinos as well.
Food- Buffet is solid, not great but solid. The wife and I enjoy Margaritaville a lot. Touristy? Yes. Good food? It really is. Plus Maragaritaville has good margaritas and live entertainment most nights. There are a few other restaurants on site as well.
Location- Center of the strip. Monorail stop. Can't beat it.
Overall- One of my favorite spots on the strip.

ANOTHER GREAT TRIP
My wife and I just got back from spending Thanksgiving at the Flamingo. 5 days/4 nights..all comped of course!
Payed small $ for great room upgrade..A few minor room glitches but $5 tip and note to housekeeping was all it took. Very friendly staff and casino seemed less smokey than our trip in March.
Machines "seemed" tighter, but when they are not being played as much, things do seem tighter. Food was a little overpriced again but drink service was fine.
Side note: Won't go again during a holiday..no one's fault but ours but my God!! NEVER SAW SO MANY KIDS IN MY LIFE! At times it seemed like we were in Orlando, not Las Vegas! This realy turns me off....not a place for kids I don't care what the reason is..it just takes away the whole "adult" thing.
But all in all...great time!
Great Time
My wife and I just got back from a 5 day/4 night stay. Room was comped but we upgraded for a newer remodeled room for only $25.00 a night. Great Room!Huge 52" TV and a 13" TV in the mirror of the bathroom. A sports lover's dream come true!
Casino had good selection of machines in all denominations. Also had 2 Rapid Roulette tables at $2.50 minimums. What a great deal on the strip! Fantastic location. Right in the middle of just about everything.
Food was average and a little over priced but drink service was adequate. Will stay again on our next trip.

Good Place
We were there summer 2005. Loved the animals outside. Too hot, but shaded. Shopping was best.
Everyone has to eat at Margaritaville once in their lives. The margarita volcano was tops!
Parking was way far in the back. Wear your walking shoes. Once you find the parking, stay around and walk down the strip.
Great place to Stay
I've stayed at Flamingo three times in the last 2 years. Before staying there, I always LOVED the atmosphere in the casino. It is a very welcoming place from outside, with the bright colorful neon lights that continue inside. The casino is spacious and friendly.
I've never won big in this casino, but I never cared because it is such a friendly place. The GO rooms are very retro and fun. Flamingo has one of the nicest pool areas in Vegas. The Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville is fun, the sidewalk drink bar is fun. The restaurants are good and reasonably priced.
The location is great. A great place to stay in central Strip, steeped in history with a glimpse of Vegas past.
Flamingo
Nice place. Nice Buffet. Rooms are nice. Casino nice. Worth it to stop in.
Good table games
A spacious casino in the heart of the Strip. Part of the Harrah's family so you can earn and use comps throughout the property. A poor Diamond lounge for you Diamond Club members.
A nice variety of table games is plenty of $5 min. tables and a very affordable min. for Pai Gow Poker.
