Mandalay Bay Takes A Whole Day (To Get Across!)
I am sorry to say, I just don't like the mega casinos. They are too big. When I decide to find the poker room or go to a restaurant and I have to turn my watch back when I finally get there, the place is too big!!!!
The food was fine, the poker room was nice, and for what you get, the prices are too high.
But hey, that's just me.
MIX LOUNGE - Best View in Begas
I will start by saying that this place is NOT the easiest to find, but look for it, find it, and GO! The view here is amazing. You can see straight down the Strip and is unmatched anywhere else in Vegas.
The food is good, not great for the prices you pay. We arrived earlier in the evening, before the late crowd showed up.
We were able to sit outside and have a few drinks and enjoy the view.
I forgot to mention, there are windows in the bathrooms so you still enjoy the view while you do your business. Never had a pee with a view like that!

Too cold
I visited the Mandalay Bay Hotel and found that it felt really "cold", with no personality. No warmth. It's pretty, but I wouldn't want to stay there.
Mandalay Bay
We recently stopped at the Mandalay Bay Casino to visit the Shark Reef Aquarium with free tickets we got from our time share place. The self guided audio tour was fun and informative. We played a little slots in the large casino.
Horrible
I have been coming to Las Vegas since I can remember and I am now a resident. For my mother's birthday, we decided to book a suite at the Mandalay Bay. This was the worst mistake. The room was large, but not like the pictures on the website. There were NO Amenities in the room or elsewhere. The customer service was nonexistence. We complained to the manager and they gave us $75 toward food/beverage to our room. WOW! For the amount we put into their hotel $75? Really?!? I'm sorry, but as far as service, amenities, player's club, food & drink, this hotel is by far the worse hotel I have stayed at thus far. The staff needs to be retrained. The hotel needs to be redesigned. The rooms need to be rethought through. There is a convention center there, not everyone they have as guests are there for pleasure; they need to have rooms that at least have coffee makers, maybe space in the refrigerator for leftovers, or a microwave? Oh, and don't get me started with the televisions. Steer clear of the Mandalay Bay unless the price is really all you are after and you really don't plan on being in the room. I did win 1500 on a slot machine, so the weekend wasn't all lost, just disappointing.
Fancy!
Visited 7/11/08. This place was fun. Did okay on slots.
Large casino. We parked at Excalibur and rode the tram. Gift shops are located around the sides of the casino.
Best Poker Room in Vegas
Top of the line place to play for me. The poker room is run with the tourists in mind. Very few "Pros" play here. They will give you a $5 comp after 4 hours of play good at the deli right behind the poker room. Go for the pastrami on marbled rye. It is to die for. Reminds me of New York.
Great Employees!
We didn't play that much in this casino, but their attendant's are #1. They are very helpful and nice.
I had my players card attached to a little "wallet" that I carried my money and ID in, and had accidentally left it in the machine. I realized it about 10 minutes later, and went running back from Excalibur to hopefully find it.
When I got to the casino, I asked the first person I saw who led me to someone who I guess was a head attendant. He walked me to their service desk all the while playfully telling me about the dangers of leaving my ID behind.
They had found my wallet almost immediately after I left it there. I tipped him for helping me out, and when we returned to our room at Excalibur, there had been a message on our phone from Mandalay Bay saying that they had found my wallet.
It's amazing the lengths they took to ensure that it was returned. I was impressed.
