MGM Grand Hotel/Casino Review: Hotel/Casino located towards the South end of the Las Vegas Strip. Parking/Transportation: Didn't use their parking garage as we didn't have a rental. The monorail is located right on property and takes you basically anywhere within 10 to 15 minute walking distance on the Strip. Gaming: Nice selection of slot machines. Like the older style games that they still have including the horse game, but not sure if it is still there since we've been there. The table games are located in a too congested area. Don't like playing table games here. Restaurants: N/A, didn't eat here... Rooms: We stayed in one of the Celebrity Spa Suite rooms and I have to give it a D- if I had to give the room a grade. We requested a non smoking room and they didn't have any. We are not smokers and anytime you came in the room your clothes and you started reeking of smoke that's how bad it was. They had no other rooms to move to the first night. They finally offered to move us the next night but we already had everything unpacked so we declined. I wrote a letter to their hotel manager and he was kind enough to offer us a free night in the future in the same type of room but we never used it because I don't want to get stuck in the same type of smoke filled room again. Red Rock, MGM & Whoever Else Wants to Charge Resort Fees - We do NOT want to pay Resort fees! Do I have to say it again? I will avoid staying at any Red Rock and MGM resort hotels as long as you charge these Resort fees. Harrah's doesn't charge any Resort fees, guess I will be staying with them more often! Misc. (UPDATE) Since we have stayed there a couple of years ago, they have decided to get rid of the lion exhibit. This exhibit brought in a lot of foot traffic to the hotel. A bar will not bring in the same amount of foot traffic that these lions did, no matter how much they market it. Bad decision, very bad decision.
MASSIVE!!! Bring your walking shoes!
This place is HUGE! Probably the biggest casino to walk through in Las Vegas.
I was staying across the street at NYNY and wanted to go to the Venetian. Did not feel like walking, so I decided to find my way to the Monorail Station at MGM.
Well, after getting lost twice, and walking for 35 minutes, I could have stayed on the Strip and made it a long way,
The number of Slot Machines is unreal. There are honestly too many in this place. Walking through the casino is like the Energizer Bunny... It keeps going, and going, and going, and going....
The buffet, is like the casino - huge. The variety and quality of food is second to none. Ate there twice in on trip it was so good!
There is also a huge selection of restaurants, better to plan out your trip at MGM and do some research.
I never stayed at this hotel, thus the reason for 1 on the rating scale...

A fun place.
I love the MGM Grand. We always go there to visit the lion exhibit and watch them. I don't usually gamble very much on the slots, bit I won a bit, so I left happy. The restaurants have excellent food, too.
MGM Grand Hotel Casino
This is one of the largest casinos on the Las Vegas strip. We recently went to the CSI:The Experience in the MGM Grand and had a grand time. This is a must exhibit for CSI fans.
Slots are tight in Vegas!!!
We went for the first time to Vega after mostly playing in Biloxi
We have won so much in Mississippi, but not a win at all at MGM in Vegas
hardly hit a bar on a slot. We thought the slots were very very tight
and would not go back The hotel was nice and all the amenities were great
but that we would expect at Vegas, but we went to get a little bit of play
and hopefully a win and that did not happen We would not go back to Vegas
the slots are too tight, we tried other casinos as well, same thing very tight
slots wonder if there is any other comments on this We talked to alot of locals
that said the locals do not play on strip due to tight machines
As Grand as you want it to be.
My Wife and I stay here every year and love it. One could easily stay inside this Hotel/Casino for an entire stay, it just has so much to offer. Lots of excellent restaurants and better than expected gaming. Slots and Video Poker are fair, but you can find good VP in the higher limits. Excellent Blackjack can be found here if you know where to look ($25, S17, etc), low house advantage. Lots of walking, as it is huge. It has a terrific pool(s), and also has a lazy river and trendy new pool (Wet Republic). The smell of this Hotel/Casino is fabulous. Check it out, for sure!!
mgm las vegas
best for food, cocktail waitress service casino personnel friendly and helpful good comps
Grand as in Canyon
This is easily one of the largest casino floors on the Strip. The slot machines seem to go on forever and it's easily to get lost amoung the one armed bandits. This multitude of machines offers you a wide variety and the newest released machines.
The Rain Forest Cafe is a nice comfortable eatery that offered us good food and fine service. The MGM location offers easy walking access to New York, New York; Tropicana and The Excalibur.
