Red Rock Casino/Hotel Las Vegas Review

Red Rock Hotel/Casino Review (February 2010): Hotel/Casino located way out of the way away from the Las Vegas Strip, a "locals casino." Parking/Transportation: Didn't use their parking garage as I didn't have a rental. Used their "free" airport shuttle from the hotel to the airport. Had to rent a town car going to Red Rock from McCarran Airport because they only have the shuttle service at certain times during the day and real early evening as I arrived after 9 p.m. in Vegas. With the hotel being as far away as it is, there should be a 24 hour convenience shuttle to and from the airport. Coming back to the airport took around 45 minutes from the hotel! Gaming: Nice selection of slot machines, from old favorites like Goldfish, newer ones too. Very nice layout of machines. Didn't play much table games. Table games were placed mainly on the outside of the slot machines at the time I was there. Restaurants: Ate at the buffet. I was impressed with their varied selection. Rooms: I basically had a free room offer for two nights. Couldn't resist so had to take it. Normally this hotel charges resort fees of around $20 a night! But, with this package deal, in the fine print, it states that the Resort fees are waived. I was in for Super Bowl weekend. A lot of buzz in the hotel with people wearing their favorite sports teams NFL jerseys even if they weren't in the Super Bowl. RedRock, MGM & Whoever Else Wants to Charge Resort Fees - We do NOT want to pay Resort fees! Do I have to say it again? I will avoid staying at any Red Rock and MGM resort hotels as long as you charge these Resort fees. Harrah's doesn't charge any Resort fees, guess I will be staying with them more often!

Disappointment

I must say I was very disappointed with the Red Rock. My family stayed there in July, went to a movie and spent time there....never again. It was not very clean, some employees were less than helpful. After staying at the Green Valley Ranch, we expected much more. The rooms were nice, it was the atmosphere and the movie experience that was not enjoyable. There were very obnoxious people around us at the theater, we missed big parts of the movie because no one was doing anything about it. The food was pretty good. Altogether, not a good experience. We will not be staying at the Red Rock again.

Love it

The rooms are beautiful and spacious, but most importantly the beds are out of this world.

New and Alone

The Red Rock is a member of the Stations Casino "chain" and is one of the newest casinos in Vegas. This a giant casino with a desert theme.

They have a nice food court that offers a wide variety of choices. Their selection and number of video poker machines is outstanding.

The only "negative" concerning this casino is its remote location west of the Vegas Strip. It is easily twice as far from the strip as any casino West of the strip. We tried surface streets but it simply took too long. We ended up going to Red Rock by way of the new West bound 215 freeway.

Liked Machines there

Went in Dec. for first time and was completely satisfied with variety of new machines.

Our party hit a few times on Video Poker. Also had an amazing variety of all the new penny Video Slots.

I am going to return there in March to play again and try their buffet.
