YUK!
Husband and I were in OKC for the Memorial Marathon and saw a promo for Riverwind; earn 20 points get $20 matchplay. Everywhere we play in Oklahoma 20 points means $20. NOT HERE. I played $56 and got FOUR points. My husband played $105 and got SEVEN points. We visted the player's club to see WHAT GIVES? The attendant on duty said each machine grants points differently and we must have been playing progressives which don't give many points. We both told her "no" we are penny slot players. She just shrugged and said that's all I can say.
Dear Riverwind: Be honest. Truth in Advertising is important to your customer. If it is really a play $200, get $20 promo, then say so. Then your customer can make an informed decision about their level of committment to play. If not dishonest, then this practice is at lease grossly misleading. The old adage of a satisfied customer tells one or two people about their experience, but a dissatisfied customer will tell a hundred is true. We will not return.
Dear Riverwind:
Riverwind not even entertainment for my $$$
Last time I went I turned $100 into $15 at minimum bet.
This time $50 One single bonus paying zero $$$ not a penny.
Took me longer to drive there than I got to play.
It is my opinion Riverwind wants you to walk in the
Front door, hand the money to the closest employee and
Leave. They don't want you sitting down using their electric
and taking up their space.
Used to be a fun place now it's self inflicted torture. If getting
mad entertains you will have lord of company at Riverwind.
NEVER WIN the worst so called casino
When you play AT NEVERWIN You depart from your hard earned money before you say Chickasha nation.. I saw this woman playing $5 a hit on a cool catz machine. As soon as machine gave her some money, IT went dry. She CASHED OUT OVER $3000 from the ATM and put them all into these machines It FELT like someone is controlling her machine. This other WOMAN was playing Royal reels $2.5 a hit. After she lost over $100, she got a free spin and the spin gave her only $1.20. I SAW as soon as she win something machine froze and a sign comes on sayings "machine is paying" After a minute or so machine starts to work but never give anything again. No one is auditing these people and there is no mercy on the owner's part. This place was suppose to be an entertainment but ended up to be a huge source of free money for this nation. As our pockets dry up they buy more places and our money is being used by this nation to purchase all of Oklahoma.
Expect To Lose
Expect to lose if you play at Riverwind. I have noticed that only the high roller machines payout these days. Stealing from the poor and giving it to the wealthy. If you expect to lose you won't be dissatisfied. They used to play fair and it used to be fun to play at Riverwind. That isn't the case anymore. The quarter machines don't even play enough to keep you interested. One thing for sure is that with all of the empty seats you have your choice of machines.
buying oklahoma
River wind is ripping off people, using our money, and buying all of the attraction places in Oklahoma. First they bought Remington now they bought the BRICKTOWN Ballpark. Just wait till they auction out your houses because you are lured to their casinos with empty promises and dried machines and you full their pockets.
Never win there
Me and my husband have been there and my mother in law a few times and it is the worst place of all casinos I've been to and Ive been to alot. We could'nt win anything there, every time we've been there we walked out broke. I will never go back there again. You would think all the money this place brings in Riverwind would at least pay out a tad bit. I guess this is great for them they don't have to tell anyone how much they pay out. There is no law in Oklahoma that says any casinos have to show what they pay out. Which I believe is wrong, there should be some law saying they have to pay so much out a year. So everyone that is walking into Oklahoma casinos is playing blind to what the casinos are paying out at. I will tell you this much I will not be going back to Riverwind Casino ever.
I don't like the place
Riverwind is close to my home and I have played there a lot. It has been a long time since this casino has had even decent payouts on their slot machines. Spin after spin after spin with no results. They are taking the fun out of playing their slot machines. They used to have good business with lots of players but now it seems that everyone is staying away from Riverwind and Newcastle Gaming.
DO NOT ENTER
You will lose your money if you play in this casino. Nobody is winning these days. Machines are set up for very lo payouts. This is a Chickasaw Tribe Casino and none of their casinos payout anything. The other casino is Newcastle Gaming Center. The atmosphere in both of these casinos is terrible. The only people that are smiling are the managers. The last two times I went to either of these casinos nobody was even playing their machines. That is how bad it is. The Chickasaws are on the take these days and they have been for several months. The only people who are supporting them are the elderly people and they are getting ripped off big time.
Truly a NeverWin
I've been going to this casino occasionally... I win some but lose a lot... My wife likes it because of the high ceiling and cleaner air (compared to other ok casino)
I'd rather go to Newcastle or Kikapoo -although lacking the luxuries of neverwin or firelakes- but at least you get to play longer and maybe leave with some winning, sometimes big ones.
Again, I don't like neverwin mostly because I always loose... the only exception, is on Valentines day I won a 600.00 on an .80 bet. and that has been the biggest win ever, even on those "lucky" days when I get a bonus on a much higher bet. All in all, I would only go to neverwin to make my wife happy but i keep my money in my wallet and watch her give hers away.
Never expect to win at NEVERWIN
I have been four times and odds would have it that I would win something on at least one out of four trips. This is not the case. I lost each and every time and it was very frustrating. My girlfriend has also gone multiple times and NEVER WON. If you go here you will lose your money, that I can guarantee.
Good atmosphere, bad gaming
This Casino is a great place to see. Food is ok and hotel is nice, however the gaming has much to be desired. Typical Vegas slots payback 95-98%. They bleed you dry over an extended period, so you can order more drinks. These slots bleed you dry quickly by not paying you small wins. You are drained very quickly. This casino receives a large amount of business from the OKC area.
The people from this area that want to gamble in a relatively smoke free environment are limited to this casino. Oklahoma has no law regarding slot payouts. The casinos can set them to any level they wish. I do hope that the tribes realize that they can still make money and make reasonable payouts. This will make everyone happy.
Never Win is appropriate
I play regularly and go there occasionally because it's less smoky, but have found the common reference to this casino of "NeverWin" to be accurate. At other casinos you hear winners being announced, screams of excitement and high fives by patrons, but I've never seen that here. The cashiers have even been rude in the past as if you're a bother. At Remington, Newcastle, Kickapoo, etc., I've never experienced that. I've won hundreds at a time elsewhere playing under $1.00 a spin, but never anything over a hundred dollars at Riverwind. And even small bonuses when I bet bigger.
neverwin
The machines are extremely tight. The owners of the casino are greedy and as long as they can strip you out of your money, they are satisfied and do not care. I lost a lot and quit playing. Now I just accompany friends who still have some money left and watch them lose. I noticed if you win a little and let it stay in the machine, someone would trigger something that you will lose it back. so if you win anything over $10 take it out. Drawings are mostly called for people who are not there. I had a friend whose name was called weeks in a row even though he was sick at home. I hope the management wakes up and realizes that being known as a greedy casino is not a good thing. They eventually will have to close their doors. Try to take the 7-10 percent profit and advertise your return rate then you will make more profit. Money hungry never helped other casinos and will not help never win either.
I don't like this place
Neverwind Casino is about right. There is never a slot person around when you have trouble with a machine. There is always a huge line to cash out- they seem to be short on employees. There is never a drink server around when you need a drink. I don't play poker but the blackjack area is so hot and smoky and crowded. They close tables too fast at night and don't really seem to care about their customers. Good luck Neverwind! I will take my butt to Newcastle or Fire Lake
payouts are horrible
I am a slot player and have played at Riverwind for four years. About two years ago they changed managers and ever since then their payouts are horrible. I have exchanged email with this manager and he blames it on his Slot Machine Vendors. The really bad part of it is the elderly people. They lure them in with small bonuses and free food and then whack them on their machines.I play the Quarter VGT Machines and the payouts are terrible. It is like legal theft in my opinion. The quarter players are the heart of their business and this manager is running them off. Over the last two months their quarter VGT Machines are not being played like they used to be. They take from the quarter player and give it to the high rollers. If they don't change that practice they will lose all of their players. They are relying on new business only now and soon they will run out of customers. IF YOU HAVE MONEY YOU WANT TO LOSE PLAY AT RIVERWIND.
save time and money and dont go
This is the worst tightest casino I have been to. I have tried here several times and it's always the same no matter what you play YOU WILL LOSE! Save your cash and don't go!
Avoid !
Worst payout I have found anywhere. Pretty sad when greed takes over and ruins what could be an excellent opportunity for a casino. I'll never go back and hope all will avoid the entire operation !!
They've Improved Somewhat, Overall
I must say that I pretty much avoided "Never Win" like the plague for almost 2 years due to their rudeness, bad attitudes and extremely tight machines....not to mention they jerked everyone around with empty promises of a comp system for an eternity. The problem with them is that this State has no limits as to what they can legally steal, like Nevada.
They earned a little bit of my trust & business back the past few months due to better free and match play offers, but mainly because of my health and the winter weather; it wasn't practical to drive 40+ miles to go elsewhere. Now I only go on certain days and certain times and it's made a difference in winning for me.....and I'm not a big bettor.
Problems Cashing Out
My husband and I visited this casino last month. You can't cash out any money on the machines under $10, it has to be a hand pay by attendant, but there is a catch to that. On the first machine I waited for the longest for an attendant to show up, and when one finally passed by, I called at him and he just looked at me and kept going. I chased him down and then he told me I had to go to cashier cage and tell them. Then I had to wait for an attendant to show up. When I took him to the machine, he cleared the machine and then I had to go on the other side of the building for him to put it on the computer and then he had to call someone to approve it. After waiting a couple of hours someone finally showed up to approve it. Then the attendant had to fill out a form and get my personal information and then we had to go to the cashier and get and I had to sign some papers to get my money. It took way over 6 hours to get my $3.00. The next machine was only 16 cents that had to be hand paid by an attendant. I decided that it wasn't worth it. The next machine was $10.00 that was also a hand pay. So I went to the cashier, she called someone, we went to the machine, some other attendant cleared the machine while I was gone. I was told that it was my fault for leaving the money in the machine. So I lost that $10.00. I told them what I thought, found my husband and left.
NO WAY, I WILL EVER GO THERE AGAIN!
Not too bad
I go to Riverwind every now and then and then sometimes quite a bit. I have won big several times. I did win a progressive jackpot for $21,714.37, and for that, I invested $127. I have also won several jackpots for Royal Reels, actually winning 2 in one day. Last week, I did win $938 (started only with $20). I've won several thousand dollars from the poker machines.
It's a decent place to play. I do like the security. If some guy sits down next to me and tries to hassle me, etc., security is right on the ball and comes and investigates. As a single woman who brings about a lot of unwanted "male attention," especially if I am winning big, security will show up after about 5 minutes or so of the guy pestering me. I like that. They will also escort you out to your car anytime you desire--just ask. I do feel safe at that casino.
There are times when I win so-so, times when I win good, and times when I really don't win anything at all. However, I can say that certain machines are known for higher payouts than others. The trick is to find which ones pay out and then make note of the serial number of the machine. Riverwind constantly changes the location of such machines.
Food is so-so, especially at the buffet, which is more like an all-you-can-stomach food trough. Soft drinks, coffee, and hot cocoa are free. I don't drink alcohol, so I don't know about that aspect. They do have a gift shop whereby you can buy smokes at a discounted rate.
They have changed their player club benefits too. I just got two cards in the mail from them this week. I've got 2 free buffets (from the food trough), a free night's stay at the hotel, and $75 in play after earning 20 bonus points on card (roughly $100). I also get invited to private by-invitation-only parties they hold.
I have always been treated courteously by all the staff and have not found the people to be rude at all as some others have touted. But I, too, always treat others courteously and that seems to be reciprocated in kind--at least by those at this casino.
All in all, it's a pretty decent place.
Moron Alert
Out of 118 trips and 33K I won one jackpot of $2500 on all denominatios of slots. Need I say more.
Greedy, Arrogant, and Stingy Casino - Pass them on
Where to start? My advice would be somewhere else folks. Riverwind, or Neverwin, as many people call it is one big rip-off!!!
You will lose big. There are occasional winners I've watched come out of there... 98% of the time you will lose.
28 times in a row I tried to win there... 26 of those trips I never won a penny and the huge majority of spins were nothing at all... not even a nickel win on a spin.... just over and over, spin after spin, the reels payed nothing! That is pitiful!
If you lose long enough, you'll eventually hit a bonus round, which will also pay nothing for your effort. Slot machines that have a bonus feature should pay when you hit the bonus, after all you are paying more per spin for the bonus feature to be activated... but no, when you hit a bonus round after spending perhaps $50, you'll be rewarded for your efforts with a big $1.85 or maybe even $2.50.
This happens over and over... they are not going to payout, not now not ever folks...
They have even added a sign to all their doors which is absolutely arrogant and it reads like this.... This is the self-governed Chickasaw Nation... Unconquered and Unconquerable
Poor taste to post that all over the place.... leave that kinda sign for your indian powwow clubhouse.
The little short blond haired host fella is an absolute arrogant ass.... They will tell you they are the #1 casino in Oklahoma 4 years running..... errrrm NO they are not.... they are the most complained about though.
They are the greediest group in Oklahoma, and to watch the seniors on Wednesday is sad and depressing.... they never win a thing and you can see the looks on their faces, and some of those old folks are on fixed budgets and get robbed of them every Wednesday at Neverwin.....
Just stay away people, not worth the time you'll spend in there losing... go spend your entertainment dollars somewhere else.... Oklahoma has many nice attractions that aren't greedy Indian Casinos....
Stay away unless you have money to throw away!
Horrible tight slot machines! Went 7 times, lost 7 times! 20 dollars will last you 5 minutes (if even) at any slot machine. Spend 60 dollars to win a bonus, you will win 2 bucks!
RIVERWIND = NEVERWIN
Don't even waste your time or money going to Neverwin Casino... this is typical Indian Gaming at its best. Bright lights, loud announcements over the intercom telling you "THIS IS WHAT WINNING FEELS LIKE" hahaha what a joke and it's on you!
The slot machines are rigged people, believe it... you won't win! If you are lucky enough *(term used loosely) to hit a bonus on a slot, it will pay you a whopping $1.25 or maybe even $2.00 what a nice return for spending an hour and $50 playing their machine... This scenario will happen each and every time you go... they have rolled the machines up so tight out of sheer greed, that you are not going to win anything.
Every spin gives you less than it costs almost every time. In 20 spins at $1.00 per spin, you'll typically get back $2.00 - now do this 50 times and you might hit a bonus round - which will then pay you an insulting $1.85 or $2.00 - - you do the math folks!
They want YOU to pay for their facility, their hotel, their construction, their million dollar sign... so go help them pay for it!
They don't appreciate the patrons that have come in there for years... They have systematically rolled the slots up so tight that only the odd winner will walk out... just watch people leaving and you can tell who won, who didn't.
One night I personally asked 190 people if they had won anything. NOT A SINGLE ONE of them had won. Out of those 190, about 7 had won back 1/2 what they had spent... That people is horrible odds... typical Indian Casino... just stay away! Plenty of other Oklahoma attractions to explore.
And particularly disturbing is the Seniors day they exploit. They give them $10 match play and a buffet lunch.. I have tried the match play numerous numerous times, never once has the "FREE" 10 bucks ever won a single penny folks. You have to put a card in the slot for the match play to workl... "HELLO" they know when you are playing on their money... honestly think you are going to win something? Seriously?
And the buffet is mediocre at best... the seafood buffet made my stomach hurt and I had to leave the time I ate there.
ADVICE: Just Say No!
Riverwind is Assume
I love going to Riverwind the people there are so kind and polite and the food is the best I had.
Their host is just so sweet, I'm always getting comp meals every now and then. If you want the ultimate exp. in gaming in oklahoma then riverwind is the place to go.
Riverwind
It is a nice casino -- as far as looks go but it is true that the machines are very, very tight.
The only place I think that is fit to eat at is Autographs. I wasn't impressed with the buffet and the other places are just junk food places.
What really irks me is that they offer a player nothing - I mean nothing. I've never been offered a free meal or any free play. They did do free play on Ladies night, men nights and old folks day but according to one of the workers college kids would come get their $10 (thats right JUST 10 dollars) and leave and not spend it in the slots. I have a card there and I know I spent over 30,000 dollars and I've not been offered squat.
I haven't been to Vegas in 3 years but I still get room offers and at the least $250 free play. But these Indians don't know how to run a business.
?
River Wind Tight Slots & High Table Game Fee
The slots are extremely tight. I have pretty much stopped playing the slots because how tight they are. They didn?t seem to be this way in the beginning, but they must have tightened them along the way. It's pretty boring just feeding it and never seeing a win worth anything.
This casino does not offer specials on their table games; therefore paying $0.50 a hand to play gets pretty high in the long run. Other Casino's around the area do offer waiving the fee during certain times of the day and it's worth waiting to play when they do.
Best Casino in OK
This was the best casino in Oklahoma I'd ever been to. Loose slots. We won back enough to pay for the whole trip (food, drinks, hotel and fuel).
The band in the lounge was awsome! Drinks are a little high. Try a Panty Remover. 4 kinds of booze with a splash of juice. Seafood Buffet on Friday night was great.
Stay at the Sooner Legends Inn and take the shuttle provided by Riverwind. There's even truck parking. If you're traveling up I35, Riverwind is a must stop!
Simply The Best
I visited this casino for the first time during Thanksgiving weekend in 2006 and it was great. My sister and I had a very good time.
It is a huge casino and it has many machines, so there is no wait to play and it's not very crowded. One area was in the back and my sister and I had a great time going from slot machine to slot machine.
We won a little, but we stayed so long we played most of it back. We were there until 6 am.
Riverwind
Glitziest of all OK casinos as of 1/07. Slots are notoriously tight.
Served cocktails when first opened, then management supposedly wanted a piece of the action from liquor vendor and is in negotiations to restore (hurry up already!).
Overall: huge, Vegas-style casino; stingy slots; no booze as of this writing.
