Small Cramped and Slot TIGHT!
Very tight slots compared to Parx, which aint great either! I never seem to win at Sugar! Plus I like some of the older slots and they only have the new shiny but stingy slots they put out these days! They need to loosen them a little then maybe I shall return. The Casino is small and the patrons a little shall we say low class and leave it at that. I sometimes have to watch my back when I walk to my car especially at night. The Comps are terrible for slot players a 5.00 or 10 dollar here or there, the web site should be a little more informative as to any comps you have on your card. The parking is not good small and cramped but than again so is the casino. The only positive I must say is that you can get credit to play with markers a lot easier than Parx.(no minimum bank account needed) But other than that, stick with Parx if you are a Philly local
SugarHouse is the worst house of all....
These idiots who think this casino is great ought to have their heads examined. From start to finish, it was a complete and utter disaster. From the crappy slots, to the non existant comps, and the insipid contests, along with the wall to wall smoke and the very dark and disgusting patrons, this casino is a real loser's paradise. I will never go back here again. In addition, the employees are very unfriendly when it comes to customer service. I can't even call to get my comp balances or look up my balances on line. Philadelphia made a huge mistake bringing this hell hole to their city.
Sometimes fun Sugarhouse
I laughed out loud when someone left a comment stating their slot machines were "tight as a drum". this seems to be true some nights but other nights it's fun! I have won small amounts with the highest being 112.00. I like to go there to have fun but sometimes the smoke smell is too much! Also, they do let anyone in there. At any given time there are people just sitting at the machines and not playing, this should not be allowed. I went to the casino on opening day and they were not giving out ANYTHING!! They could've at least given out ink pens and pads! I went back later with friend and they gave her 20.00 free slot play NOT FAIR!!!! I also see people banging on the machines making the reels stop. On lots of the slot machines, some buttons are broken, they force u to play the max bet or just not the denomination you wish to bet because the button is stuck or broken. I ate at Asian Fare and their food was good just don't order the thanksgiving day sandwich because it is cold!!!! If a sandwich has turkey and sweet potato on it, at least warm it up I mean really! I hate going there and seeing people carrying around their free gifts and I haven't gotten one yet and I use my card every time I play! I went to the Rush Rewards counter to inquire about this and they said, ' You don't play enough. For example the last time you played you only bet 5.00" What??? Did she mean my last BET was 5.00? I had been playing for over an hour on a couple of different machines! So far I have seen them give out a lot of free gifts but they said you have to get a post card in the mail.Overall going to the sugarhouse is a fun experience but it sucks when u lose all of your money and r told u don't play enough to get comps.
lost alot
lost 2300 dollars last night, slot machines at sugar house are terrible, last night was my last trip to that casino. spent hundreds of dollars trying to get one bonus that never came, completely worthless. i thank you sugar house for the money you saved me in the long by me never stepping foot in your casino again.
High Rollers Stay Away!!!!!!!
Been a high roller all my life..let me tell you something Sugar House and Sands PA are the two worst places for high rollers you never ever get a chance to break even.. the machine simply suck up the money.. i would suggest high rollers to stay away from these two places.
Too tight, too small, too smoky, too dark
I recently visited this casino, only to be sorely disappointed. Not only was the place small and in dire need of an expansion, it's way too smoky and way too dark (figuratively speaking). The machines have been extremely tight. I never saw anyone winning. Also the food and free play comps are incredibly low, compared to other casinos in the area and their contests a complete and utter joke. Even well after a year of being open, these idiots still have not upgraded their systems to allow patrons to check their balances. In addition to the safety factor, there is no protection from low lives who take joy in robbing or jumping you in the parking lot. Cars have even been stolen and lives threatened by thugs wanting to rob you. All in all, SugarHouse has a slew of improvements to make before they can remotely consider themselves a real player in the casino market.
I don't like the place
Just stay away from this place , machines were designed to collect money. Not to give out a dime, they are real cheap. And there is no european roulette which has better chance for players like me than american roulette . As for the blackjack , it is the same story, min bet is $10 max bet is $100 so it means that if you lose your money there is no chance to get it back.
Funtime in the city
Sugarhouse was so much fun. We went to the phillies game and decided to hit Sugarhouse before going back to NJ. It was right there, easy to get to, easy parking. We didn't go for comps, or slot promos we went for fun and that is what we had. We spent 4 hrs there, the staff was pleasant, drinks kept coming (give the waitress a good tip on the first drink they will find you for your next), then ended up having a burger in the back bar area delicious ! Just the right size for the area. Thank you, we'll be back during the playoffs,
Sugar House
I also joined the players club with the promotion you would get your money you lost back after a half hour or double the amount if you played an hour. I played the entire hour and lost $80, so I was expecting $160 of free play on another day. After 2 months, I received nothing. I contacted the players club and to my surprise I was told I won $3 . No way to know how they figured that one out but I won't be back. This casino is dishonest and believe me I will let everyone know. Go to parx, harrah's or sands you will have a much better time. Sugar House sucks and does not honor it's promotions!
I hate Sugarhouse
Let me say, I visited here with my wife the other day and we both had a miserable time. Not only were the comps horrible, the machines were as tight as a drum. None were paying out. The joke about this place was that you can't find out in advance the comp amounts where they do not make available phone or online access. This place is in the middle ages. What is wrong with them? Every other casino in the area allows you to access your balances on the internet, or on an automated phone system. This makes it so incredibly inconvenient for people like myself, who have to travel 50+ miles to get to the casino, only to find out u have $0 comps. Also, what kind of system forces you to put your own money in before using your comp balances? OK..another backward policy is obtaining a new players card. The people operating Rush Rewards put u through the 3rd degree to obtain a simple players card or worse yet, u hand them your old card and they ask for several forms of ID and issue u only 1 card. Food comps in this place are non existent and the variety of restaurants is horrendous. And the biggest complaint I have are the vile people they allow inside. Many of them came from under a rock, and are rude and disgusting. All in all, this place isn't worth it, as far as I am concerned. I truly hate Sugarhouse, for what its' worth... Better off going to Sands or Parx. At least these places have class where this hell hole is far from classy!!!
Sugar House Casino
I've been to Sugar House a bunch of times. It certainly isn't in the same class as Sands, Parx or other better known places. Their comp program is a complete mystery! I doubt if the CIA could find out how it works!. Usually, the food in the bar is good but lacks variety. We usually get 'you need to play some more to get a comp! It reminds me of some of the independent casinos in Vegas back in the 70's
All in all, Sugar House is a place to go if you want to have some casino fun and maybe win, maybe not. If you are looking to build a long term major comp relationship with a casino.. I don't think this is the place for you.
What a disaster
My wife and I recently visited SugarHouse Casino. Let me tell you, our experience was a living hell. We were promised by a customer service rep food comp and slot play where we received none. Also, the Rush Rewards desk made us chase down a player's rep on the floor to look at our accounts and perhaps add slot play and food credits. They also make it extremely difficult to find out your available slot play or other comps. It's all "top secret"...lol. Other casinos in the area gladly give you the info either over the phone or online and make it convenient. This casino makes you travel to get there only to find out you have nothing available. This casino is still set in the middle ages.
None of the reps are ever in sight to assist. Then there are the disgusting patrons who they allow in the door. They are not only vile, they are rude & discourteous. Many of the slot machines I usually play are now gone. The ones they have now really suck. None of them pay out. The contests and promotions they have are really horrible. What a ripoff!! They are incredibly tight in every aspect. All in all, SugarHouse was (is) a disaster. I will never ever make the trip to go down there again. I highly recommend going to Parx, or Sands, Mt. Airy, or even Borgata. At least, they have class, where this place has none whatsoever.
Absolute rip off offer
Posting this review to let everyone know that Sugar House Casino has rip off offers and their drink service is beyond a joke!
Went to Sugar House based on a promotional (New Member Double Play) posted on their web site that they would pay you back up to $100 cash your loss and up to 100 slot play if you played at least one hour. I played way more then an hour and lost $100. I even checked with the members club when we arrived the offer. When I called today they said oh you only lost $4 based on how they 'calculated' the loss. Lets see I went with $160 and left with $60. Pretty simply right?! Wrong! According to Sugar House I only lost $4. They are full of horse. My players card was registered the entire time I was playing. Sugar house is being shady and dishonest with this offer and can not be trusted.
And the drink service is disgraceful. We ordered two Malibu Bay Breezes which came in tiny little cups you might use to wash out your mouth in the bathroom after gargling.
Save your self the trip and go to a real Casino with some class. We will not be going back. Sugar House is a poor excuse for a Casino.
For a real Casino experience try out Parx. Parx does offer some nice slot play at times and a food comp. Or cruise to Sands in Bethlehem for a real classy operation!
Sugarhouse Is "SWEET "
I went last night with my Mom, though I didn't win my Mom did. She spent $70.00 of her own money and walked out with over $2,000.00. I wish I could say the same for myself but I'm so happy for my Mom. But we sure did get thirsty and waiting for someone to come around to get a cup of coffee was almost non-existent. And waiting for someone to come to pay my Mom was also a long long wait, but there was a young casino host named Chris W. He went out of his way to get a server for us. And said if we have to wait for a jackpot again to call him and he would personally make sure my mother would not have to wait. This is what i expect from a high limit slot area but Chris made us feel as if we were the only players there. Unbelievable, what a great employee. If you ever go there make sure you find this employee he was great ( Chris W ) I think he was a casino host he can help you as he helped my mother........
Room for improvement
Well, this had been a pretty good beginning for SugarHouse. Since their opening, their security is greatly improved. The slots can however be looser, where they have been rather tight lately. Also, they can make our slot/comp dollars accessible via phone or internet. Many other casinos in the area give that option, except for this place. When asked to customer service or management, they shrug their shoulders and tell us we would need to come in to find out our balances. I found this to be very inconvenient. Food and drink are OK.
Slots are way too tight
My complaint about SugarHouse is that the slots are way too tight. If they want me to continue coming back, they need to loosen up their machines and allow them to pay out .
Sugar House - you can tell it's the only casino
...table game minimums for blackjack on a weeknight are $25. For Pai Gow it's $40. Of the two craps tables running there was one for $10 and the other was $15. I guess that's to be expected when the closest competition is in Bensalem 15 miles away.
But there were positives; cocktails are comped at the bar for video poker players, and there were plenty of quarter 8-6 JoB games at the bar. I appreciated that the bartender told me he could comp my drink if it was made with well liquor instead of what I'd ordered. And the staff at the player's club were very friendly, giving me a free T-shirt for sign-up.
It's a relatively small casino, but the smoke wasn't bad. It's about a $9 cab ride from center city. It's not Vegas (what is?), but I'd probably go back if I was in downtown Philly, especially when they get a poker room. (The player's club employee said they're "working on it".)
I like Suga rHouse
I do like this SugarHouse casino on the Delaware river. They had a Player Card in my hand in seconds. I didn't have to wait in a long line to sign up. That was a good start. I started playing the first machine and hit for $100 after just 15 minutes. Played for a while after that and did ok. Later I lost back most of it but had enough winning left over to buy dinner at the cafe (i forget the name). And the food was good too. I will be going back.
