Poo Poo at Kick-a-Poo
My wife is from San Antonio, so we have visited this casino in Eagle Pass a couple times, since it's only about 2-3 hours away. Slot area is very depressing, don't see anybody winning. The poker room was nothing special, and "English only" doesn't seem to apply since the casino is right on the Mexican border. It's the only game in town....only casino in Texas, but we will never return when we visit the Lone Star State again
Much Improved Payouts could be better
We have been now several times this year the Drive from San Antonio is just around 2.5 hrs. The Players club kinda sucks. Points don't add up to much unless you use them on food. The Club offers are weak considering I'm a slot player and get huge offers from Vegas by comparison. The staff has always been so helpful and friendly from the club desk personnel to the buffet and floor people everyone is always very nice. The place has grown and has many new machines. Payouts are tight, I bet better than average from 2 to max credits, depending on the machine, my first visit I did well but those machines are gone now....mmm. Three return visits my money didn't last the four hours we had setup as our return time. Yet they now have many TV commercials, have expanded the parking lot and are in the process of growing the casino. I guess we have to help them pay for it.
Improvements
Slot pay is lower than it should be. Car giveaway is nice, but you have to be present and it is on a weekday. Poker room A/C is erratic and players are either sweating or shivering. Bad Beat jackpot has some extra rules which are not necessary and counter productive. Dealers are nice, but some aren't quite Vegas level. Service in Poker room can be slooooow. Rake is a little too high. If another casino were to open within 200 miles, this casino would suffer a lot.
Buffet food is so-so and not cheap. Sports bar has good burgers and the other grill makes decent fast food at reasonable prices. Facility needs a hotel on site and better HVAC system. I don't play bingo, but the Bingo Hall is pretty big. Not up to Vegas standards in any department, but seems to be improving slowly, possibly die to more professional management.
Eagle Pass is getting a little better
I have been to Eagle Pass this year several times. I can tell you the slots are not paying like they should. expect to put in $20 and it will last you few minutes. my limit there is $100. They used to have an old mobile home looking structure where they played bingo. there the largest i hit was $300. that was it. ever since, no pay out over $20.00. very little free spins, bonus etc. if your looking for a jackpot, they need to change the ratio. because they dont pay out very much. The food is excellent. not very costly, especially the mexican restaurant. we ate there few times and they gave us enough food for 4. we couldn't finish it all, but it was good service. some of the slots have there run out of paper, so it was kinda wait until they show. but they are very good about refilling and they ask you if there is anything else.
if there slots were paying little more, i would definitely go there more. but for now, it's only once in a while.
I didn't rate the table games or hotel since i don't use them.
Lucky Eagle in Eagle Pass is OK!
Each time my wife and I visit the Lucky Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass, Texas, we see improvement in promotions and customer relations.
We both feel that the restaurants need more help, but all in all, the Lucky Eagle is making progress.
