DraftKings is First to Launch in Google Play Store

DraftKings became the first in the US this week. The operator launched its app giving players easy access to both its popular online casino and sportsbook.

On March 1st, online casinos began to legally be allowed to offer mobile apps in the Google Play Store to players in states where online gambling is legal.

Previously, Android users had to go directly to their favorite online casino site to download the mobile app. This new development seeks to give players easier access to gameplay.

Mobile Gaming Will Change the iGaming Industry As We Know It

This has become especially needed for the iGaming industry as the share of mobile players continues to increase each quarter.

And the numbers don’t lie!

In 2020, it was estimated that 2.2 billion people were playing games on their mobile phones.

Take into consideration that games make up 43% of mobile phone applications, and that this number continues to increase daily, and investing in mobile apps for iGaming is a no-brainer.

Mobile apps are making it easier for more people to access the games they love!

This goes hand-in-hand with the deaths of Adobe Flash and JavaScript, platforms that were used on many casino games.

Online casinos in America have worked hard to reformat their games to be compatible with all mobile devices. Most games now use the popular HTML5 software which can be used on both Android and iOS devices.

Now that this has been achieved and mobile apps can now be downloaded by players for free directly from the app store, we can expect even more mobile players.

Because of this, the online gambling market is predicted to exceed a valuation of $160 billion by the end of 2026.

What’s next for mobile players?

As the number of mobile players continues to grow, the industry is continuing to find innovative and fresh concepts to keep them coming back for more.

The biggest trend starting to gain traction in the industry is behind Mobile UX

Mobile UX is designed to encompass aspects like interaction, content, and sound design into the game, and take the player on a fully immersive journey.

It is being touted as the next evolutionary step for exciting and engaging mobile experiences for online casino players.

While still in its infancy stages, it’s exciting to think of the possibilities of what’s to come.
