Golden Gate Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, Nevada

The Golden Gate Hotel & Casino is Las Vegas’ oldest and most historic hotel and casino. Established in 1906, this family-owned boutique hotel-casino offers a friendly, intimate atmosphere that’s reminiscent of classic times long-forgotten by corporate mega-resorts.

The Golden Gate is located at One Fremont Street, on the corner of Fremont Street and Main Street, downtown, right under the world-famous Fremont Street Experience and canopy light show.

The property offers cozy, charming rooms, a full-service casino, and delicious value-priced food. The boutique hotel features 106 newly remodeled rooms that stay true to their heritage while also offering contemporary conveniences. Room feature pillow-top mattresses, flat screen TVs as well as other amenities and range in price from $24, plus a daily resort fee. Upgrades to suites are also available. The Golden Gate has also been voted “Best Downtown Hotel” by the Las Vegas Review Journal for its charm and value.

The Golden Gate has three full-service bars. The One Bar, located under the brightly lit canopy of Fremont Street serves frozen drinks and cold beer chilled by the only geo-thermal system in a Las Vegas Casino. Inside, Bar Prohibition has some of Vegas’ most talented bartenders serving up drinks and tricks.

For classic Las Vegas casino entertainment, guests can enjoy timeless melodies played from the casino’s grand piano, or pull up to the casino bar to watch all your favorite sports, or have your picture taken with traditional Las Vegas Showgirls. The showgirls appear nightly in front of the casino. Alluring dancing dealers perform weekend nights too, channeling the spirit of the roaring 20s!

The casino’s slot floor features traditional favorites like Wheel of Fortune, MegaBucks and Monopoly, along with all the hot new themes and video poker games. The pit offers friendly games of blackjack, starting at just $3 and blackjacks are paid at 3-to-2 unlike many other casinos which only pay 6-to-5.

There is also craps (10X odds), roulette, three card poker, let it ride and Texas Hold’em Bonus. An interesting note about the Golden Gate is that they accept BitCoin in the casino, as well as at the hotel. Bitcoin purchases at the casino hotels are processed through BitPay, a service that streamlines transactions using tablet and mobile interfaces. Tablets programmed with BitPay are installed at each cashier, allowing Bitcoin users to easily pay for services using their mobile wallets.

As always with any casino, if you are visiting for the first time, be sure to sign up for your player’s card prior to playing. When you play slots or tables with your Club One player’s card, you’ll be earning points toward free gifts, free dining, free stays and free play at both Golden Gate and their sister property, The D.

There is usually a promotion for new member sign-ups. Check with the club booth for additional promotions prior to playing. Players earn points in the One Club as follows: $5 played = 1 point for slot players and $10 played = 1 point for video poker players.

The American Casino Guide (ACG) always includes some great coupons to take with you on your visit to the Golden Gate, such as a $25 matchplay coupon. Be sure to take them with you, along with your ACG membership card when you go for extra savings and winnings and enjoy your visit to this historic, quaint hotel casino!
