Pennsylvania Casino Revenue Wins Over $500 Million for the First Time

March 2023 represents a remarkable month for casinos as multiple states collect record-breaking revenue. New Jersey and Pennsylvania broke previous records with year-on-year growth exceeding 10%. 

Casinos in Pennsylvania managed to reach the $500 million milestone for the first time, collecting $515.3 million in March 2023. Compared to the same period last year – during which PA casinos collected $462.7 million – the record-breaking month shows growth of 11.35%. 

Other than Prax Casino, all state casinos show significant revenue increases compared to the same period of 2022. 

Revenue Collected per Casino Operator

Hollywood Casino at Penn National collected the highest revenue of $80.9 million, reflecting growth of 27.02% compared to the $63.7 million during March 2022. 

Valley Forge Casino Resort claimed second place with an impressive $68.5 million during March 2023, revealing growth of 32.25% compared to the $51.8 million last year. 

Even though Prax Casino claims third place, its revenue is slightly down compared to last year. In March 2023, the casino collected $60.44 million, while the same period of 2022 was $60.46 million. 

Hollywood Casino Morgantown impressed the most with the most significant year-on-year growth of 66.87%. In March 2022, the casino generated $5.7 million, which increased to $9.5 million in 2023. 

Claiming the second highest growth percentage, Hollywood Casino at Meadows won $31.2 million in March 2023, showing an increase of 51.98% compared to the $20.5 million collected in March 2022.
