How I tested The Wolf’s Bane
I tested this werewolf-themed game during October, so it was perfect for the time. To ensure I can bring you an honest and thorough review, I have looked at this game inside out. Here is how you can be sure of an honest review:
- As mentioned, I have genuinely played the game which is not the case with all review sites.
- I think the RTP and the volatility are important stats, so I have taken these into consideration in this review.
- The graphics which I have already mentioned are crucial to a successful slot game and this video slot has done well in this area.
- I think a slot should be accessible for those with all budgets, so I always look at the minimum and maximum bet.
- It is important to understand the symbols properly before you play, so I will give you a good sense of those throughout the review.

The Wolf’s Bane Symbols & Payouts
Min/Max Bet, autoplay option
The minimum bet on this game is $0.10 and the maximum is $100. There is an autoplay option and also a quick spin function represented by a fast forward symbol. This speeds up each turn.
The RTP is 96.74%, which is pretty much bang on the average RTP for an online slot game.
The potential for max wins is quite low due to the low to medium volatility of this online slot machine.
The maximum win on The Wolf’s Bane is a return of 500x your original stake.
The Wolf’s Bane has a lot of special features but the stats leave much to be desired.
The symbols in this game are blood-spattered card symbols, A, K, Q, and 9. The more valuable symbols are nurses, gravediggers, soldiers, and what appears to be a clairvoyant, with the soldier being the most valuable. Offering returns of 2.5, 8, or 50 times your total stake when you land 3, 4, or 5 respectively. There is also an unfortunate fellow who is mid-werewolf-transformation who serves as the wild symbol. This slot game has an average RTP, low volatility, low minimum bet, and a relatively low maximum win. But it is in free spins mode that this game really comes alive.
Wilds, free spins and other features
Pick’em bonus game
Land three of the crossbow-wielding villager and you can unlock the Pick’em bonus game.
This symbol only appears on reels one, three, and five. You are then asked to choose one of those landed symbols and they will reward you with anything between five and 50 times your stake.
The free spins are the big selling point of this game. The free spins mode is triggered by matching at least three scatter symbols, which are represented by a werewolf or a full moon. You get 10, 20 or 30 free spins depending on if you land three, four, or five of those symbols. This mode can also be retriggered, but only once. Therefore the full potential of free spins is 60.
At some point during free spins mode, you will be rewarded with one of four wilds. They are:
- A regular wild.
- An expanding wild which expands to cover a whole reel.
- Multiplier wild which will double your winnings when part of a successful combo.
- A spreading wild which expands horizontally across three rows.
The Wolf’s Bane is jammed with features and premium symbols
Full moons and werewolves are normally a reason to be scared, but when you land one on this slot game you start to get excited. Unlocking that free spins mode adds a great extra incentive to the overall game too. This game’s big selling point though is the Pick’em bonus game. Who wouldn’t want an instant reward?
The Wolf’s Bane Graphics & Sound
|Optimized for Mobile||👍|
The Wolf’s Bane graphics are engaging and in keeping with the theme but it is just a skin on an old game.
Players of the older slot machine Wild Wild West: The Great Train Robbery may be very familiar with the machinations of the game because they are identical. However, in the case of The Wolf’s Bane, they have really improved the graphics and they serve the theme much better. The cartoony style of the Wild Wild West was a nice gimmick but ultimately made it look cheap. Whereas with this slot machine the reels are set in a background of an eerie medieval village. The clouds are grey, the fog is thick and the wind gently pushes a tree too and fro. The soundtrack is certainly unsettling and reminiscent of those scenes in horror movies right before the… SCARE!
Solutions if you have some issues with a game
If an issue interrupts your gameplay you will find that you can replay the same round and all bets or payouts will have been designated void and refunded.
If the free spins retrigger does not work then you should contact the casino’s customer service for help.
Overall it is a fun online slot machine to enjoy. Its design is nice and creepy, which is great for spooky inclined customers. The features are unfortunately moved over from an older NetEnt game, but they do add a great incentive and bonuses to the game. Ultimately they wouldn’t rehash it if the features and three extra wilds weren’t engaging and encouraging players to return. Players will enjoy the Pick’em bonus game and it adds a little extra sweetener to the gameplay. The standard aspects of this game do leave a little more to be desired, particularly the bang average RTP, but I hope you get plenty of free spins because that is where a lot of the enjoyment comes in.
