Everyone has a different experience..........
Nice People, Smokey but decent slots and tables
Shady tables - avoid this casino
This place is a complete joke. I'm a high stakes player that tracks every session. I consistently win >60% of my sessions going back 3 years at any location I play except Gun Lake Casino. Whenever I attempt to play here I lose > 85% of my sessions. On my last trip I played 2 different tables. At my first table once I was up $1k the dealer was switched on me 2x as an intentional move by the pit boss to throw the game and attempt to move cash back to the house. My next table after being up $3k they switched dealers on me 3x in 20 minutes! Avoid this casino! Zero amenities, shady pit bosses, unfair game strategy.
machines are really, really tight
What a joke!!
Don't waste your money
Gun Lake Casino did not meet expectations
Worst casino ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No chance to win!
Don't Waste Your Time
We have frequented the casino several times but this is my first review. Our last visit was the last straw. We've been to several casinos in MI and surrounding states, but Gun Lake is horrible at giving you an entertaining experience. When the casino is busy, the smoke is so bad you can hardly breathe, and the slots are so tight that you're out of money way too soon. My husband and I both "earned" gold cards (read: gave them enough thousands of dollars and got little a bump in status as a thank you), but when we stopped going as often, instead of enticing us with restaurant coupons or free slot play to get us back, we got our slot play cut. Completely. Yeah, nice treatment of your regulars. Our last visit, as I said, was the last straw. It was extremely busy and we had to go from ATM to ATM to try and find one that worked. We heard from a couple of the patrons that the machines were down. They should've had employees stationed at the doors letting people know that right away but no. So we stood in line at the cashier to get an advance off our debit or credit card. There was two employees trying to get people through the line but all they could do was disburse people's vouchers from cash they made at the machines. Not one time did someone mention to the tens of us waiting in line that the servers were down so there was no way of getting any money out. They should've had employees at the doors and at the line telling people that. Or even better, announcing it over the loudspeakers. No signs, no warning, just 20 minutes of wasted time waiting in line. Gun Lake cares nothing about keeping people's business, just their money. Find another casino - this one's worth nothing but skipping.
Horrible all the way around
Average casino to me
Thanksgiving Day Buffet
No Winnings @ The Lake
I will never go back
Worst casino yet
This one is the worst for any wins! When will the tribes figure out that we will stop coming and spending (throwing) our money away?
The less you pay out hence the less we come.
there are better places to go
Shame on you guys!
I started playing at Gunlake 3 years ago. I won all the time. In the past year it has been terrible. Its not fun anymore... so tight!! Why the change?? I read an article saying they make 163 million dollars profit per year on just the slots. The guests are not getting much of it. Shame on your greed!!!
Hard to win here!
This place is a rip off! Yes its gambling but certainly no FUN when you lose all the time!!
Host is great, door attendant offensive
I don't mind being carded at the front door as its only a 10 second process. My last trip to Gun Lake Casino I was carded and as I was taking my license out of my wallet the attendant saw two of my USAA credit cards and said, "USAA?....a military guy, what branch?". I replied, "the Army" to which he laughed and said, "oh geez...." in a drawn out way.
Being a Black level Passport card holder I'm confident my Host Nate Matkin would love it if I gave my business to the casino in Battle Creek.
I don't expect to win at every trip to Gun Lake Casino. It's more entertainment, striking up hilarious conversations with other patrons, my host, and just getting out of the house. The gaming floor is kept clean and the waitresses are plenty. I'd like to see newer slots as there are many repeat older titled slots on the floor, way too many in fact. Some slots have been on the floor since opening back in 2011 (Hee-Haw) yet others are there for a year or two and removed (Hot Hot Super Respin China Moon, Record Jackpots, Wish You Were Here, and Hot Hot Super Jackpots 2x Wild & Crazy).
To sum it up - its hit or miss as far as the staff. Being insulted before even walking into the Casino is NOT a positive customer experience. On the other hand, once in and playing, my Host Nate Matkin is so nice, pleasant, and willing to go above and beyond. Though I never bothered Nate for anything even though he reminds at the end of our catching-up talks, "If there is anything I can do, or if there is anything you need, don't hesitate to ask", I felt compelled to voice my disappointment with one of the door attendants.
If you want to go where the slots are so tight you would have thought you were askin a Dutchman for $5 and if you like shoulder to shoulder capacity...then go here! If this doesn't sound appealing to you then stay away. Some people that work there that are in customer service...the floor security mainly are pretty garbage!
Stay home and rent a movie instead
If you want to be a LOSER, go here.
