Still Great
Stopped in here over the weekend after a quick shopping trip to Bellingham. We were going to go to the Skagit, but did not want to drive there.
I had some coupons for the Skagit casino that gave me $50 in free play, but learned that the Silver Reef will honor them - even though they have no connection whatsoever.
The pizza, as always, was more than excellent.

Casino is quite nice
The casino is quite nice and has a hotel attached we have never stayed in it as the room rates seem quite high, If you are a canadian their exchange rate is very good. When you sign up for a new card you are given 5 in free play and a are entitled to a free birthday dinner yearly at the time of your choosing. We picked the friday night seafood buffet and it was delicious. We don't play here a lot as the slots seem tighter than if you go more south.
Getting Better!
Went here for New Year's Eve with my wife and in-laws while staying at our time share in Birch Bay.
They had added a lot of new machines since the last time I was here. Fun and entertaining for sure! They have a poor selection of Video Poker, maybe 8 or 10 machines, all 9/6 DDB that cost 20 quarters for the progressive JP.
Tried a calzone this time, absolutely great.
Being New Year's, the place was packed, most I have ever seen here, but that just added to the enjoyment!
Will be back for sure!
Great Pizza, Average Slots, Outstanding Service
Stopped in here for a quick visit on my way to Bellingham.
This is a nice casino, somewhat in the middle of nowhere. About a 10-15 drive from I-5.
The service at this casino is some of the best that I have ever seen. From the bartenders, to the Security Officers that hold the door for you, the food servers in the pizza place, the dealers (especially on craps) and the customer service reps. Either they must pay really well, or these people really love their job.
The slots were a 'hit and miss' it seemed. Some were paying, not huge amounts, but they were paying. I know that I am more than likely going to lose when I play slots, but these machines seemed to take my money slowly, or slower than some.
The tables are decent, 3-2 blackjack from a 6 deck hand shuffled shoe, which was good to see. Craps was 10x which was great to see, made some good coin there. Limits start at $3 for BJ and Craps.
The pizza at this place is some of the best that I have ever had! My mother in law (who is Italian and makes terrific pizza) was the one to suggest it. Well, her pizza is the best I have ever had and this was a VERY close second. Drinks were cheap, well inexpensive as far as Casino bars go.
I can't speak for the hotel, but it does look nice (that's why 1*). The parking lot was very full for a Sunday night, which is a good sign. Lots of Canadians, like myself at the Reef as it is less than 10 miles from the border.
Good entertainment all in all...
TERRIBLE.. Canadians Beware
One of the worst casinos I've been in. Although most in Washington State are poor and the payouts few. Canadians should stay home as the casinos here have much better payouts and payout more often. I went to Silver Reef steady for two months. No payout and spent $3,000 on slots. I stayed in the hotel. What I did notice..payouts are better through the week..but it's locals who win.
So-So
Ventured way way up north while camping at Swinomish Casino. Thought we'd see what one of my co-workers was crowing about. Sorry to say..the slots were awful. Didn't hear anyone winning...just lots of groans..including us..Signed up for their players club card and were given vouchers for 2 free buffets. Yay! They were serving brunch..it was really good!! The atmosphere in the casino is reminiscent of Snoqualmie Casino..low ceilings and dark wood. Elegant. It kind of surprises you with the location..this big, beautiful resort in the middle of bullrushes...lol. The Customer service was great, everyone was nice, but just didn't feel the love in the slots :-( And if you were rv'ing it would be nice to have a place to stay with hookups.
Not impressed
After driving more than 100 miles to check out this casino based on the recommendations above, I don't understand what everyone thinks is so damned fantastic.
The slots are OK, though far too many are tired (flickering screens, bad/non-existent sound, etc.) and the payouts just as skimpy as any casino I've been to in Western Washington.
Put in $60, mostly got little tiny paybacks (less than the amount bet) with one exception toward the end when I got a 1,000 credit win. Was down overall so I kept playing; should have cut my losses and gone elsewhere.
Won't go back.
Great casino,breath of fresh air!!
As we live in British Columbia,we wanted to check out some Washington state casinos.Silver reef was rated "number one" in this American casino guide site, and oddly enough no staff member there that we talked to was aware of that. They deserve it! Friendly staff, delicious food that should rate much higher than the normal buffet fare. Check out the pic's I uploaded of the Silver reef casino on the "tripadvisor.com" site Entitled:Breath of fresh air. And we both won money..first day and second! Not a fortune..but we knew we had a fair shot of leaving the casino floor ahead of the game.In BC,our casino slots are like reverse ATM'S..lol. What a great experience. This will now become our favorite place to stay and play. Heidi at the front desk was very helpful to us,greeted us with a smile and nice welcome.Rooms are gorgeous..suites are too! Suites on the 6th floor have a separate vip lounge too. Have a nice indoor pool and jacuzzi, that is crested by a indoor waterfall. Pics are now here to review. I am happy to do this for this great resort, noticed lots of people winning little jackpots all over the casino floor..been a while since I have seen anything like that..our slots in BC are so tight that it pushed us to find a decent one..glad it did! We are looking forward to returning soon. JFZ

I've been to all the casinos in Washington they all have been ok, but I really like the Reef alot. They are so friendly and I think they have the best payouts. They're all around a great place and worth the drive.
nice break from the crowds
My wife and I were returning to Portland, Oregon from the Vancouver games and decided to check out some casinos.
What a great place. The staff was very courteous and friendly. Slots paid out well, table games had a great selection and the food was well priced and a treat to the taste buds. We look forward to our next trip up north and stopping in again.
comfortable, safe
good hotel rate for early/mid week get-a-way. Was looking forward to the spa and a relaxing message, sorry not during the week...it's only open thursday to sunday !! Oh well, cross this place off the midweek break locations, I can't understand why this service is not busy during the week, it never will be if they stay closed. Card games are right up there with all other casinos and the wife says she enjoys the slots. The meals are fair to good and the odd comp for a meal is what you expect. The beds are great, slept like a baby and the 6th floor very comfortable. Over all its a great place with friendly staff and a good location ... too bad about the spa....I think this might keep us from coming back !
Best all around
Great place to gamble. Always a chance to walk away a winner. High payout on slots. Caters to seniors on Mondays. Makes it worthwhile to be old. Cleanest restrooms in the state.
Lots of players club benefits. The only fault is there are not enough non smoking areas. I live in Canada and there are 5 casinos closer but I travel to the SilverReef because it's worth it.
Mostly Nice
Overall we do enjoy this casino. The diamond dividends points add up better than most places we have played.
The dining is O.K. but not top notch, the hotel is very clean and fairly reasonable in price. I like the double deck blackjack with reasonably liberal rules(double down on anything).
The only drawback is that it can get very smokey when it is busy. I have had to change tables often and have sometimes left early when my allergies get too overwelmed.
Atmosphere
My wife and I come down as often as we can. We love the atmosphere, the staff and hotel amenities. The beds are so comfortable here. The staff are always friendly.
Silver Reef Casino & Hotel
My sister and I try to visit this fine hotel & Casino at least 4 times a year with an average stay of 4 nights.
The beds are the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The rooms are beautifully appointed and so very clean. The hotel and casino staff are superb, never met a finer group of people, so very curtious, kind and helpful.
There are plenty of eating spots and the food is all okay. We don't play the tables but there is certainly a good variety of slot machines and winning is a possibility.
I would highly recommend this fine establishment to anyone who loves gambling and relaxing in an upscale but very friendly environment. It is beyond excellent!
