Save your money. Employees are rude, slots are bad and food not good either. If they have a hotel we did not use it so I can't comment on the hotel.

It's very disappointing to see a nice facility that does not seem to care either about customer service or getting customers to return. The casino is wide open and spacious but the owners seem to not care about building a following. I did not see anyone hitting much of anything for the two days I was there. And the food was not a good quality. Even the salad seemed it had been out way too long and was tough. Beats me how you can serve a bad salad on a buffet.

Visited this casino with another couple last Thursday, 10/6/11. I did not make any money but did not expect to based upon previous visits. However, one of the persons who came with us made money, but he was spending at least 90 cents on each pull of the slots. It seems that the more you spend per pull, the more you can make so long as the machine is paying and you have enough sense to leave when you are ahead. I don't think a lot of players have that control. I don't spend a lot of money on the slots so really don't expect to make money which is exactly what happens. But I am disapointed in the fact that the drinks are expensive and watered down based on how much they cost. Also, the food is not much of a deal and not really much to talk about.
The casino is quite nice and expansive and with high ceilings, you don't smell smoke unless you are sitting next to a smoker. There is a good selection of slots so you should not have a problem in finding a favorite, but don't expect to put any money in your pocket as they are really tight and don't payout anything. The bartenders are friendly which makes up a little for the high priced and watered down drinks.

I've been going to Ho-Chunk on a regular basis for several years. The last couple, the paybacks on slots are truly poor at best. I don't play the table games much, as it only takes a couple rude remarks by dealers to turn me off to those games. They have improved the look of the place, but I feel the odds aren't as good, nor is the food as good as it used to be.

Worst craps table I have ever been at. Head crew person was unbelievably rude. no comps. They argued with players. Refused to pay a bet that was clearly legit. I've played craps at 30 different casinos, and this place is far and away the most rude .

Went to Ho-chunk North 2 months ago and My Boyfriend and I will never go back. We played and lost like usual, but this time it was the machine that was making us lose.

The winning combinations were lining up but it was paying out nothing. Finnaly we got sick of it and asked someone why it was not paying for the winning lines. Well the machine operator was stumped as to why it wouldn't pay for the winning line, so lets ask the slot supervisors, well when that one doesn't know, hey how about the floor manager?

Well needless to say they needed to turn off the machine and find out about it later. So we filled out a customer complaint form and they floor manager promised up and down that we would be contacted by that following monday. NOTHING, not even a curtesy call. we went back the following week to get answers and got the same exact bull crap. And to top it off the food was terrible. I wanted a mix drink, well that cost me 8 dollers for about a 5oz glass. We will never go back there again. My mom just went there for her birthday and they wouldn't give her anything because she didnt use her card enough. This casino needs help.

I won 2 jackpots and was told "Sorry, there was a computer problem, we cant pay you the $4,500 that it says you won." That happened twice.

The waitresses were rude and seemed hungry for tips without doing anything to deserve them. Food was lukewarm and seemed to have been from a TV dinner. I signed up for a tournament and was told after standing in line, "Sorry we had too many people sign up, come back tomorrow." WHAT A JOKE....... RIP OFF!!!!!!

On Saturday, April 25, 2009 we drove from Milwaukee to the "New" Ho-Chunk North Casino. What a waste of time.

The Casino had computer problems and had to hand pay everyone. Instead of closing the doors and shutting down machines they acted as if it was business as usual. By not acting in a pro-active manner they had a real mess on their hands that just kept snowballing.

Management and employees did not know how to handle the situation and their "Customer Service" was non-existant. I had put money in a slot and then it would not let me play. The person who came, got it working and told me to just play it off. That statement offened me, as I felt he was saying just give up the money. The machines would not cash out. People waited 2 hours or more to be cashed out.

Employees who were cashing people out, just stayed in one area of the Casino. So those on the other side of the Casino waited 2 hours or more to get cashed out. They were telling people over the paging system that it would be a 20 minute wait. The only employee that seemed to truely care about the patrons was a cleaning lady.

I would never go there again to spend my hard earned money. I am telling everyone I know about the poor management and employee attitude. Avoid it like the plague.

Come from Chicago once a year. Nice hotel close to the Dells area. Big Casino with lots of options, but I agree with other posters that service has gotten worse. A few years ago EVERYONE was very friendly. Now it's hit and miss.

And yes, I've seen dealers who just want their tips, even before they've given you any good serveice. Ate at the sports bar upstairs, service poor, but food was decent. The casino is nice and big. Good variety of games/slots. Maybe they will get that they need to get back on their customer service game.

First off, it was my 3rd year going and the service has been going downhill for sure. It took almost an hour for a waitress to finally come over and ask "why wait for me, when there's a soda fountain around back?"

Then the pitboss couldn't have cared less when there was a mis-paid amount and made me wait 35 minutes to review a tape to get me my 25 dollar chip back. It seemed like all the dealers were having a very bad day, they were rude and inconsiderate.

Go take your money and play somewhere else, this casino has fallen on hard times and doesn't care about the players. The other reviewer seems correct, why would someone who gambles here go on and on and on about promotions and free this and that unless they worked for ho chunk.......WHAT A SHAME.....NO MORE FOR ME.......

Most of the dealers are sourpussed native americans who look at you like you owe them tips, or something. Waitresses rarely if ever, come around for drink orders. The floor person brushed off my complaints and then so did the pit boss.

The line to get a new card took forever, and the desk was manned by some 80 year old lady who got more flustered as time went by. Service sucked, definitely will be gambling where my money and time are a greater concern to the house.

The other reviews are so glowing because they were probably written by people who work there and want you to go lose more money....I'm all about the truth, my experience of ho chunk is garbage. DO NOT STOP AT THIS MONEY SIPHON HOLE.........

I WILL GAMBLE ELSEWHERE, MANAGEMENT DIDNT EVEN WANT TO HEAR MY CONCERNS AND IVE BEEN THERE FOR 8 YEARS NOW.....FORGET IT.......

One of the best casino that I've been to. Tons of slots, table games,

awesome food and beverge locations

The reward program is is high quality. You can use you rewards program points for hotel stays and golfing.

The gaming hall has Texas hold'em available to the players of the casino. They have good tourneys running monthly.

This is a A++++ casino for people to visit from out of town, the hotel is one of the best in town and very nice rooms for the money you pay.

If you don't know Ho-Chunk Casino and Hotel then you're definitely not from the Midwest. It's big with lots and lots of machines and table games. Like all casinos, some days you win and most days you lose!

The buffet has really good food as does the Sunrise Cafe. I've never gone to the upstairs bar, so I can't comment on that. It's open 24 hours and the hotel is spectacular.

The rooms are ample and easy access to the casino. All in all, a very pleasant experience could be had by all.

Wisconsin's Premiere Hotel/Casino, by far!

I visit each Saturday in the summer while we are at our camper in the Wisconsin Dells and visit 1-2 times per week in the winter months!

Many times I take friends, family and business associates there just for dinner or a day trip, because it is a wonderful atmosphere. Very Relaxing!

Ho Chunk offers everything... Fabulous gaming tables, blackjack, and new single deck blackjack with 3-to-2 odds! (My new Fave).

3 and 4 card poker, carib stud, pai gow sometimes, let it ride, roulette, craps, poker room, and high stakes poker and blackjack room.

I play at the weekly blackjack tourneys, each Tuesday in winter. Great fun, Great payouts! Player's club members get 10% off at every restaurant, Sunrise Cafe has great sandwiches, big portions.Stand Rock Buffet, Copper Oak Steakhouse, the bar, and the hotel rooms as well, all 10% off. The food is excellent and the buffet is enormous...Vegas Style.

PROMOTIONS ARE GREAT! If you play often, HoChunk mails out special member offers a couple of times per month for less than 1/2 price hotel rooms, rewards points for slot play, free buffets, 2-for-1 dinners in the steak house, etc...

Daily promotions are awesome! Always a $10-$20 rewards slot play for almost anyone who walks in the door. Right now they give away from $200 to $3,000 in drawings games and promotions every 2 to 4 hours, everyday, so make sure that your rewards card is in a slot, so you're entered automatically to win!
