They denied access to our entire post-wedding party because one girl in our group stumbled. Then a roided up security guard threatened my 60 year old uncle with physical violence for questioning their decision. What kind of a casino does that?

Because the location is close to where I live, I tried many times to go to this casino for my gaming entertainment, but this place is Horrible if you are hoping to win anything on slots! They have the tightest slots of anywhere I have ever played! Don't bother wasting your money there, trust me find a better casino! No matter how many times I visit, its always the same result- lose your money fast, little enjoyment. Sad that a casino can take in that kind of money and post a payback of over 90% payback. At least when I go to Waterloo with the same amount of money I can play MUCH longer and I get great comps to use off my card! Its worth the drive to go further to avoid Diamond Jo!

Went down to Diamond Jo for a work convention. We were staying one night, and it was Monday night football and the Vikings were playing. Out of 192 people about 30 or so people were "cut off" for being too drunk (most of which might I add only had 1 or 2 beers at most) another person was cut off because he was cheering too loud because a touchdown was scored.

I feel that the dealers are inadequate and the slots pay poorly. Please please don't waste your time/money.

The trip began with 4 people and headed down there with 19 adults, ranging from 35 to 60. This overnight party was planned for 2 months. We all had rooms, arrived there from the Twin Cities around 4:30. All check in to our rooms. Within the first 2 hours, 3 of our 19 were told the were banned for the evening! The first guest was told that she "laughed to loud and they do not tolerate any behavior that is loud". OMG, it was 4:30 in the afternoon! The second guy was sitting at one of the 3 bars (irony) and cheered for the twins with his "loud voice" and he was tapped on the shoulder and asked to leave. Out of 19, 8 were "tapped out"! I understand now why they say "The best thing that comes out of Iowa is I 35!! Spread the word, we talked to guests down there not in our party and they have heard similar stories. If this is what a state run casino is all about, I have a new found respect for the Indian casinos of Minnesota!

I have to agree with getreal. The daytime dealers are idiots. I thought one of the women there was going to take off her shoes to count. Then tried hitting on me.

I don't suggest going there to play table games during the day unless you are looking for a "good time" girl. The girls in the club area where you get your cards are rude, and just want to get you out of their area. I asked questions and they weren't very willing to listen to me or answer me. Not a very pleasant atmosphere.

This place sucks. It reminds you of the casino that cousin Eddie took Clark to in Vegas vacation. I was shocked that they did not have games like guess the number and rock paper scissor. This place has almost the same atmosphere as that. As far as winning any money in this dump don't even think about it. Go buy yourself some lotto tickets, you would have a better chance of winning something. This place is a real joke.

The daytime dealers are airheads. The slots suck, I didn't win anything. Wouldn't even let you play. Spent alot of money in a short amount of time. The buffet was ok, a little expensive. I will not go back to gamble, you might as throw your money out the window.

Nice place. I'm glad that they expanded the casino rather than taking the profit and running. I've noticed other casinos that haven't put a dime back into it.

There is a lot of room to roam around without running into someone when you are trying to get to a machine. I like the new reel em in games they have. A few more would be nice.

I like how I get money back to play on my players card. Last time I received 2 coupons for $25 each for free play. Last time I was at Mystique I got $1 and at Waterloo I got nothing.

The $5 buffet they have on Thursdays is the best value I've seen at a casino in several years. They could probably use a few more beverage servers but I like how they have self serve stations.

I noticed they rearranged the newer side of the casino which seemed to spread out the crowd on busy days. I wouldn't mind seeing their prize bank come back.

I've been to many casinos in Iowa and I can't say the Diamond Joes machines are any tighter or looser than normal. I gamble to have something to do and I see it as a source of entertainment rather than a money making affair. I'll go back there again.

The rating on this casino is low overall for a reason. I frequented this casino since the day it opened. When they first opened the machines weren't too bad, on par with other casinos. As soon as they did their expansion and hotel it went down the tubes. And now that they are in court facing a lawsuit from the Rock Gone Wild mess.... well when you see payout claims on their boards of 91.3% you can bet that whoever is in charge of posting has been soaking at the big wheel bar... 19.3% maybe.... and that's being generous! Rumor has it they have failed many past audits on payouts.

I have gone home ahead 2 times since they opened their doors, and went at least 2-3 times per month since opening day. Last time I was there I snapped my players club card in half and handed it to the worker at the counter on the way out the door. NEVER will I set foot in the dump again, I would rather drive an extra hour to a casino in Minnesota.

We stayed overnight in our RV in a nice, level area. The casino seems to be land based, as I did not see any water near it. It is located next to the Iowa welcome center on I-35, just south of the Minnesota border.

We were there on a Friday night and it was quite crowded and smoky. Saturday morning the smoke wasn't that bad. The machines were fairly tight, but it seems like most are now. We saw very few waitresses and just got soft drinks from the self-serve beverage center. We will go back next time we are passing through. We ate at the Burger King that was overly priced. If you want Burger King, stop at the one outside of the casino near the rest area/welcome center.

This casino was terrible! Could not win a thing! Would not suggest going there!

If you do, do not drink because you will get kicked out for public intoxication. The cameras were watching so close they knew exactly how many beers we were served. I'm sure they also kept tabs on how much they wanted to pay us.
