Thought I would add my 2 cents worth
~ The isle... Oh what can I say... The new buffet is open... We have eaten there twice... The decor is a little better but the food isn't really that much better... There is a little larger selection of food but that's pretty much it!... Personally I would have rather the casino taken the money they spent on the remodel and put it into winning slots... Lets face it... Not many of us go there to eat!... We are there all the time (( 3 times this week )) One thing I keep hearing several people say is “I will not come back here again because the slots are way too tight!”... We only go there cause it is close... Rarely have we walked out of there a winner... The slots ARE way too tight... Takes a long time to build up enough points to even get $5.00... I am wondering how much one must lose to get an upgraded players card... We do however get free hotel rooms and eat free but there again who is going to the casino to eat and sleep???... They could also have invested on some money on filters to get rid of some of the smoke... We took my son up there this week and he had to leave because the smoke was just too much!!!... The staff is always friendly... Bathrooms for the most part are clean... Drink girls are few and far in between most days... Everyone knows more than likely you are going to lose at the casino but come on... Wouldn't it be nice if you could actually have fun while you are losing?... is it really asking to much to loosen up the slots a little??? ~
Isle of Capri on the river Boonville MO
Visiting relatives in Boonville, MO, we always end up spending time at Isle of Capri and enjoying it. Slot pay-off is fairly good and the atmosphere is relaxed and casual. Service people are down-to-earth and very friendly. There are free soda and coffee machines. Food at the buffet is satisfactory. Missouri law says their casinos have to be on water, so the casino companies build moats next to the river (in this case the Missouri) and put the "boats" there. Going to Isle of Capri is referred to as "going to the boat."
Todays update....
First of all... not all of my review was published... But thats ok...
Todays update is good... The slots were paying off today... the food was ok but no complaints ... we ate lunch for free... Customer service was extra nice today... "If I can remember"... Each time I go to the Boonville casino I will write a review... Did not stay in the hotel today so I can only assume that it was good as usual..
we go 3 to 7 days a week... slots dont pay much
We have been going 3 to 7 times a week since June 2009... Mostly because it is close NOT because it pays...The buffet is just OK... We only eat there when we have free coupons... The food is not worth the asking price...The Deli's food is good, but a little over priced, although I would not recommend the fries! Not crispy even though I ask for them that way and sometimes they have a strange taste (like maybe the grease needs to be cleaned.)
Most of the people working there are nice although some are a little lazy... One day there were ashes on the bathroom floor in the women's bathroom.... 2 hours later they were still there, but normally they are clean. When you need assistance at your machine you have to wait a long time for help. Normally you have to hunt them down...Why put the assistance button with the lights on them and cameras in the air if they are not used to help people...
Nice, but too expensive if not comped
Smokiest casino I've ever been in. Casino staff and hotel staff are very friendly.
Pretty good variety of games. Machines don't change much, not many new ones. American Casino Guide rates their payout as second highest in Missouri!
Nice rooms - very clean. Rates are high. Buffet is not worth the price - mediocre at best. Farraday's and the snack bar are pretty good. Free cookie and double points for seniors on Tues. and Thurs.
This Place is Wonderful
I have stayed in many expensive/prestigious hotels across the nation but none as clean and comfortable as this!
So clean you can eat off the bathroom floor and the beds were to die for. Wonderful experience-great food and fun gaming. Thought we had the best in Colorado-but like this place.
Colorado John
This Place is OK!
Nice place to "chill out" on long trips!
We have done it four times so far and will stay there again in two days on our way back to Colorado from Virginia.
