Texas has two Indian casinos which offer class II gaming machines based on bingo. One of them also offers pull tab machines, bingo and poker. The minimum gambling age is 21 and the casinos are open 24 hours daily.
The state is in a legal fight to try and shut down Naskila Gaming but at the time of publication the casino was still open. Be sure to call first if planning a trip.
Class II video gaming devices look like slot machines, but are actually bingo games and the spinning reels are for “entertainment purposes only.” No public information is available concerning the payback percentages on any gaming machines in Texas’ Indian casino.
Texas also has one casino boat which sails nine miles out into the Gulf of Mexico where casino gambling is permitted. The boat offers: blackjack, craps, roulette, three card poker, a sports book, slots and video poker. You must provide a photo ID or you won’t be allowed to board.
